This thesis was an exploration of building form as it relates to, and is derived from its site. The Marine Ecosystem Research Community was sited fifty miles off the coast of Australia in the Great Barrier Reef. The project investigated the formal relationships between site and building form, in this experiment the form was derived from the studying of movement of water. Through site analysis, the characteristics were derived and applied to the new building form, producing a form that has inherited the natural forms of the site.
